PEC was engaged by H3 Development Ltd. in 2015 and tasked with the challenge to gain approval from the City of St. John’s to develop commercial/industrial lands above the 190m contour. PEC was successful in gaining this approval and two (2) phases of this project are now complete. The project included connecting to the City’s existing water distribution system and then constructing a water pressure boosting building/system to deliver appropriate fire flows to the development This included 1250m of 500mm diameter water transmission main along Kenmount Road and 300mm diameter water distribution mains to service the development. Also included was the design and construction of the storm and sanitary sewer systems. The sanitary sewer system included a new state of the art lift station which was the first of its kind to be commissioned in the City of St. John’s. The development also included a significant storm sewer system, including pipes up to 1500mm in diameter, and a large storm water detention pond complete with outlet control structures which adhere to the City’s zero net increase in runoff policy. The overall project is valued at $26,000,000 and currently two phases of the multi-phase development have been successfully completed.
