Who we are
Progressive Engineering & Consulting (PEC) is proudly owned, operated, and rooted in Newfoundland. Since 2012, we’ve grown from a locally founded firm into a trusted partner for communities across the province, guided by our commitment to Service, Solutions, and Success.
We understand the landscape, the weather, and the people, and we design infrastructure that reflects the realities and priorities of Newfoundland communities.
From concept to construction, we collaborate closely with municipalities, Indigenous communities, and developers to deliver practical, lasting solutions. While our reach extends across Canada, our perspective remains proudly local. Shaped by the values, resilience, and spirit of our home province.

Safety
At PEC, safety begins long before boots hit the ground. We require all contractors to submit a site-specific safety plan prior to the start of any work. We operate with a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to safety compliance, and all personnel must follow the approved safety plan and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Our site inspectors are provided opportunities to rectify before reporting deficiencies directly to Occupational Health and Safety. In close collaboration with the Town’s Health and Safety personnel, our inspectors actively participate in contractor-led toolbox meetings and ensure meeting notes are shared with all relevant stakeholders.
All PEC project managers and field staff are fully trained and certified, with up-to-date credentials in key construction safety practices, including:
